Will you still be sending me Valentine?

This year we made butterfly Valentines. We got the idea from one of Frankie's library books. I sketched out half a butterfly, Frankie painted it, then we folded it along the center to spread the paint to the other side. I was perfectly giddy while we were making them, it was always such a cool surprise when they were unfolded.

We had fun delivering his cards and some cookies to friends and family. Even if we didn't do it until the 16th.

Valentine's morning with his treats and new little toy:

A "chain reaction" Toy Story set. He loves it. I made this picture extra large so that the Bingley cat is visible behind Frankie. What cat lays that way and sleeps? Ours.

Frankie wrote his name on the backs of all the little notepads he took to preschool. Lower case letters and all. One of his goals down, one to go.

Give:

And ye shall receive: (An awful lot for a class of 9 kids)

Other Valentine's festivities this year included Jerm and I going on a date night with our friends Sam and Aubree and Sterling and Michelle. We ate at Sakura (a Japanese steak house) and then still managed to fit a little ice cream into us too. Mostly because we were having so much fun and didn't want to go home yet. At least that was my reason. On Valentines night Jeremy ended up getting home at 6 instead of 9 which was the original schedule, so we had Papa Murphy's heart shaped pizza as a family, put Frankie to bed, and watched Thor from the redbox.

Holy cow I love this kid. The other morning he came into our room to wake me up to discover me already awake and ready to come downstairs. He jumped in surprise, giggled and clapped, then gave me a big hug. Frankie loves me more then I think I deserve sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. He and his Daddy are the best Valentines I could ever ask for.
